In this option is possible make a search for the author's first surname, title's words, or the work's subject. Also it is possible search for any combination of these elements.

If you search for the author's last name you have to write the first last name, in case of more than an author existing, you can enter the first last name of any author. For example: for searching the Historia contempránea del Uruguay (Uruguay Contemporary History) by Gerardo Caetano and José Rilla any of the following expressions are correct

Caetano contemporánea Rilla


Author

Select in the drop-down list Search for: the option Personal Author. If the work you are searching is a work whose author is an institution select Institutional author.

With this option you can search the author's works in the form Last Name, First Name or by the Last Name only . Example: if you wish to see the books written by Alción Cheroni you can enter in the text box

being both possibilities correct.

With this option you CAN'T search a book for more than an author, in case that this happens. For searching a book con more than an authors by the last name of the authors go to All fields.

You can't retrieve with this option those works whose authors appear as Prologuist, Illustrators etc. For searching a book by their Illustrator, Prologuist etc. go in Search for: to the option Prologuist, illustrator etc.

For searching proceedings of Congress, Workshops etc. select in the drop-down list Search for: the option Institutional author

For an author list go to Author search

Title

You can search for one or any of the title word. The order in which you enter the words is irrelevant. For instance: for searching Primavera con esquina rota of Mario Benedetti any of these expressions are correct

These instructions are valid also for the option Collection title

Subject

Enter a word or phase that describes the document's content. For example: for searching by subject El mantel celeste: historia y recetario de la cocina uruguaya
(The sky-blue tablecloth: history and recipes of the uruguayan cooking by Eduardo García Robles you could enter as subjects

or
Cocina uruguaya


being possible retrieve the documents by both expressions

ISBN

Enter the ISBN complete or its first figures. For instance:
